1st Winter Storm On The Farm

They called it right. The meteorologists predicted snow and frigid temperatures for parts of North Carolina and it happened. In preparation for any power issues, I went to my favorite store, Tractor Supply. I bought a Champion Power Equipment 3650W RV Ready Portable Generator. It’s awesome! So far I think the power will not be an issue.

It snowed from 9 pm yesterday until 1 pm today leaving us about 12 inches on our farm in Yanceyville. The kids and dog had a blast playing in it today. We have a great down hill path that is really fun for sledding on. The highs aren’t going to be above 30° F so the snow will be around for a few more days. It will be sunny so a little bit a melt will happen and the roads should start drying out.

We've never experienced acres of snow untouched by the activities of the city life, it is so peaceful and beatiful. We ventured out to the back part of the farm and could see tracks in the snow from birds to dear and maybe even a fox or two. Nothing like this in urban life.
